Backyard Soccer Mac
Backyard Soccer 2004 teams up with Major League Soccer to bring you kid versions of goal-scoring, hard-kicking, tough-running players, and puts you in control of the nonstop action. Create team lineups, customize teams, then take the field to play quick games, single games, or a whole season. Backyard Soccer is a sports game developed by Humongous Entertainment and published by Infogrames for the Windows and Macintosh operating systems in September 26th 1998. It is the second game in the Backyard Sports series and the first in the Backyard Soccer series. In 2001, the game was ported to the PlayStation by Runecraft, Ltd. Backyard Soccer was there reminding us what it was like to be kids, playing soccer with our buddies, picking our own teams and maybe even playing together in an actual league! Welcome To The MLS. One of the weirder things about the 2004 version of Backyard Soccer was that the game got the rights to start using the MLS license. Discuss: Backyard Soccer - Mac, Windows Sign in to comment. This soccer goal is a very popular goal for backyard play (as opposed to backyard PLUS bringing along to soccer practice, the parks, etc.). That’s because it is weather-resistant – you can leave it up all summer, it’s fairly simple to set up in the first place, and yet it’s not quite as portable as some of the other options.

Backyard Soccer, known in Europe as Junior Sports Football and in Australia as Junior Sports Soccer, is an association football video game in the Backyard Sports series, developed by Humongous Entertainment and published by Infogrames. It was first released in 1998 for Macintosh and Microsoft Windows, in 2001 for the PlayStation, and in 2008 for iOS. The PlayStation version of the game, alongside the PlayStation 2 version of Backyard Basketball, were the only Backyard Sports titles released in Europe.
Gameplay[edit]
The player selects a team, aiming to win promotion from the 'B' Division, to the 'A' and then Premier Division. If in the top four by mid-season in any division, the player's team will be invited to the Off-The-Wall Indoor Invitational. After winning the Premier Division, the player's team will be invited to represent the United States in the Astonishingly Shiny Cup of All Cups Tournament (a spoof of the FIFA World Cup). Regardless of the tournament's outcome, the player's team will be placed back in the Premier Division for another chance at the Cup.
There are several power-ups that a team can use. To activate a power-up, the player has to click on the opponent's goal.
- Cannon—The player launches a fast and powerful shot
- Underground—The ball goes underground and pops up in a random place.
- Bowling Ball—The ball transforms into a giant bowling ball knocking over any opposing players.
- Tracer—The ball is controlled using the cursor. Players click where they want the ball to go.
Reception[edit]
Ranorex automation. Backyard Soccer received moderate reviews. Its gameplay was criticized for the hard-to-use controls for the PC version and long loading time, while its graphics were praised on all platforms.[1][2][3][4] Brad Cook of Allgame stated for the PC version, 'when it comes to their Backyard Sports series, though, I think they missed the boat in one really crucial area: game controls.'[1]
